Wet Room Drain. ACO drainage systems
ACO Drainage for Wet Rooms
Wet rooms can be a beautiful and highly functional addition to any home, but it is vital to have good drainage within the wet room floor. Without well draining wet room flooring, the dream of a stunning wet room can easily turn into a nightmare.
ACO Building Drainage is a division of ACO Technologies PLC, and specialises in corrosion resistant drainage systems and building products. ACO’s range of drainage solutions for wet room floors is varied and effective, offering the user a memorable and pleasurable showering experience.
What is a wet room?
Wet rooms are becoming more and more popular and are an increasingly common sight in modern and spacious bathrooms. A wet room is a waterproofed, tiled room with a walk-in, barrier-less shower which enables the user to simply walk into it. The shower drain is inset into the wet room floor, which is set at a slight gradient to allow easy drainage. Larger bathrooms are preferable for use as a wetroom, as smaller spaces tend to result in everything else getting wet. However, wet room shower screens can be installed to keep control of the water and minimise the spray.
ACO’s range of wet room drainage solutions is extensive and varied, including stainless steel modular channel systems, stainless steel EuroGully gully systems, stainless steel and polymer composite access covers, biological grease management systems, gravity grease separator systems, anti-flood protection valves, stainless steel socketed pipe systems and rainwater outlets for use on flat roofs.

ACO shower channels
These attractive linear shower drainage systems are contemporary and effective, creating an aesthetically pleasing result in any wet room/bathroom, with clean lines and efficient drainage capacities. The ACO shower channels are available in five lengths from 700-1200mm, and can fit easily into most applications. There are six different grating designs to choose from, manufactured in an attractive ‘electro-polished’ stainless steel which is incredibly easy to clean, making the overall showering experience in all wet rooms much more hassle-free. All ACO shower channels have foul air traps that are easily removable for easy and hygienic cleaning and maintenance – ensuring your wetroom is as pleasant to be in as possible.
ACO shower gully grating
A wide range of shower gullies are available from ACO Building Drainage, and these can be used in both flexible sheet wet room flooring and tiled wet room floors. Features of the ACO Shower Gully Grating include a 50mm square top tile grating in 9 individual styles and the fact that all gratings are secured for added safety and users will also benefit from a foul air trap which conforms to BS EN 1253 requirements for 50mm water seal, and a high 1.2 l/s flow rate which is compatible with most showers.
A separate flexible sheet flooring clamp means that cleaning can be carried out without disturbing the installations, and can also act as a dpm clamp on a tiled system. Like the shower channels, the ACO Shower Gully Gratings come in a range of attractive grate designs, all have a high lustre, easy to clean finish, and are easily removable. Two of these designs can be ordered with a subtly textured surface which helps to increase the slip resistance of the wet room floor.
Level access wet room drainage
The ACO wet room intercept channel is an innovative level access drainage solution for wet rooms, which offers a versatile bathing area for all the family. This option is perfect for vinyl sheet wet room flooring, requires minimal modification to joists and avoids the need to raise the height of the floor. This system can be used on wet room floors constructed of timber or concrete, and is made of hardwearing stainless steel. It has a high flow rate of 0.4l/s and the intercept grating design confines water to the bathing area. As always, safety is paramount, which is why all the gratings are slip resistant, minimising the risk of wet room/bathroom accidents.
Guaranteed peace of mind
Customers can rest easy in the knowledge that their wet room floor drainage solutions are of the highest quality, as ACO is quality assured in accordance with ISO 9001-2000.
